Shannon Stewart, PhD

Dr. Shannon Stewart is a Psychologist and Manager of Applied Research and Education at the Child and Parent Resource Institute, Ministry of Children and Youth Services, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Stewart is also an Assistant Professor at Western University, Department of sychiatry, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry as well as Adjunct professor with the Department of Psychology and Faculty of Education. Dr. Stewart is an Associate interRAI Fellow and is leading efforts to develop several child and youth mental health instruments including the Mental Health, Intellectual Disability, Youth Justice and Education. She is also a member of interRAI Network of Excellence in Mental Health (iNEMH). Dr. Stewart is currently Co-Principal Investigator on two grants examining chronic users of children's mental health services. One specifically examines service utilization patterns among frequent users within the child/youth mental health system while the other focuses on predictive models of service utilization patterns as well as episodes of care. Primary areas of interest include treatment sustainability for children and youth with complex mental health needs, service delivery, residential treatment and inpatient outcomes, patterns of service use, restraint use, and child psychopathology.
